Autoimmune & Inflammatory Conditions
Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine for Lupus, MS, Ankylosing Spondylitis & Chronic Inflammatory Patterns
Autoimmune and inflammatory conditions are deeply personal — and often deeply unpredictable. Flares arrive without warning. Remission is never guaranteed. And even between episodes, the body carries the ongoing weight of chronic immune activity that shapes energy, digestion, mood, sleep, and the ability to function day to day.
At ECHO, care for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions is offered as a complement to conventional management — not as a replacement for it. Treatment works with the body's regulatory systems to support immune balance, ease the burden of chronic inflammation, and improve the quality of life that these conditions so often erode over time.

How Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Help
Autoimmune conditions involve immune dysregulation that affects multiple systems simultaneously — and care that addresses only one tends to produce incomplete results. Acupuncture supports immune regulation, reduces inflammatory signaling, calms the nervous system's contribution to immune overactivation, and addresses the pain, fatigue, and sleep disruption that accompany chronic inflammatory conditions.
Herbal medicine requires careful consideration in autoimmune care — many patients are on immunosuppressive medications including DMARDs and biologics, and herb-drug interactions are a real concern. At ECHO, herbal prescribing is approached conservatively and always coordinated with your specialist's care plan. When appropriate, herbs are selected to support fatigue, digestion, pain, and systemic regulation without interfering with conventional treatment.
Treatment is designed to:
-
Support immune regulation and reduce systemic inflammatory load
-
Reduce pain, fatigue, and the physical burden of chronic inflammation
-
Calm flare patterns and support remission maintenance over time
-
Improve sleep, mood, and overall quality of life
-
Work alongside conventional care — not against it
Care for autoimmune conditions at ECHO is always offered as a complement to your specialist's management. Please continue all prescribed medications and monitoring. Let us know what you are currently taking so we can approach herbal prescribing with appropriate care.
What to Expect
Your first session includes a full intake covering your diagnosis, current disease activity, medication, and which symptoms are most affecting your daily life. Autoimmune conditions are highly individual — the same diagnosis can present very differently from one person to the next, and treatment reflects that. Care is adaptive rather than fixed, adjusting as your presentation shifts over time.
Progress with autoimmune conditions tends to be gradual and cumulative. Many people notice improvements in fatigue, sleep, and pain within the first four to six weeks. Flare frequency and intensity typically reduces over a longer course of consistent care.
