About East Asian Medicine
Rooted in presence and tradition, adapted to your body in the moment.
East Asian Medicine is defined less by its methods than by its philosophy — a way of understanding the body as an integrated, dynamic system in which symptoms are signals rather than endpoints, and in which the goal of care is to address what's generating those signals, not simply to quiet them. The tools and techniques change. The underlying orientation does not.
At ECHO, we work with the body as a whole: your rhythms, your nervous system, and the underlying terrain shaping how you feel day to day. Our care draws from multiple traditional eastern traditions, integrating time-honored wisdom with a modern physiological lens and a deep responsiveness to how your body changes over time.
This isn't a one-size approach. Every session is responsive to how your body is presenting in the moment, informed by a different lens on health — one that looks upstream from symptoms to understand what's driving them.
Quick menu:
Acupuncture
The foundation of this medicine. Fine, sterile needles are placed with precision to regulate the nervous system, ease pain, and restore circulation. Each point is chosen in real-time, based on your individual presentation — including, when appropriate, auricular acupuncture points on the ear.
Electroacupuncture
Electroacupuncture applies a precisely calibrated electrical current between select acupuncture points — low or high frequency, micro- or millicurrent depending on the clinical indication — to amplify and sustain the body's response to treatment. Effects include pain modulation, improved local circulation, nerve regeneration support, and enhanced tissue repair. The sensation is typically a soft, rhythmic pulsing and is well tolerated by most patients.
Eastern Herbal Medicine
An individualized extension of care. Thoughtfully crafted formulas support regulation, resilience, and deeper change between sessions. Herbal prescribing is included at no extra charge with private acupuncture sessions, or offered as a standalone consultation without acupuncture. Herbal formulas are provided in-house and billed separately.
Cupping Therapy
A focused extension of care. Therapeutic cupping helps release restriction, encourage circulation, and restore mobility in areas of chronic tension. Cupping may be included within private acupuncture sessions when appropriate, or scheduled as a standalone treatment without acupuncture.
Moxa Therapy
A warming, restorative method. Soft heat from the mugwort plant is used to ease tension, reduce sensitivity, and nourish areas that feel depleted or slow to heal. Application is guided in real time to match what your body responds to best.
