Rooted in presence and tradition, adapted to your body in the moment.

At ECHO, we work with the body as a whole—your rhythms, your nervous system, and the terrain that shapes how you feel day to day. Our approach draws from East Asian Medicine traditions including Chinese Medicine, Japanese acupuncture, and Korean Medicine, integrated with a modern lens.

Acupuncture

The foundation of this medicine. Fine, sterile needles are placed with precision to regulate the nervous system, ease pain, and restore circulation. Each point is chosen in real-time, based on your individual presentation.

Electroacupuncture

A gentle enhancement to standard acupuncture. Low-frequency microcurrent is applied between select points to dampen pain signaling, support tissue repair, and encourage steady circulation. The sensation is mild—often felt as a soft pulsing—and can deepen the body’s restorative response.

Herbal Medicine

An individualized extension of care. Thoughtfully crafted formulas support regulation, resilience, and deeper change between sessions. Herbal prescribing is included at no extra charge within Restoring Ease or Tending the Terrain sessions, or offered as a standalone consultation without acupuncture. Herbs themselves are prepared in-house and billed separately based on your formula.

Cupping Therapy

Glass or silicone cups create a gentle vacuum that lifts the skin and underlying tissue. This promotes circulation, eases tension, and helps the body detoxify. The temporary marks are signs of movement, not injury.

Moxa Therapy

A warming, restorative method. Soft heat from the mugwort plant is used to ease tension, reduce sensitivity, and nourish areas that feel depleted or slow to heal. Application is guided in real time to match what your body responds to best.

Scar Therapy

A focused method for areas that haven’t fully recovered beneath the surface. Gentle needling, microcurrent soften adhesions, restore glide, and improve local nerve and circulatory function—tailored to the needs of each scar.

Questions, answered

Is East Asian Medicine the same as Chinese Medicine?

East Asian Medicine is a modern umbrella term for the Japanese, Korean, and Chinese traditions that have shaped the development and clinical depth of acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and eastern herbal medicine in the West. Though each lineage is distinct, they share foundational principles and a long history of practice-based refinement.

Do you use Japanese, Korean, or Chinese acupuncture techniques?

We incorporate aspects of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese acupuncture. Each tradition offers unique strengths, and we draw from them selectively based on what best supports each patient and fits the practitioner’s experience and approach.

Are herbal consults included with acupuncture?

Yes. Herbal prescribing is included at no extra charge with acupuncture visits. It is also offered as a standalone service without acupuncture. Herbs are prepared in-house and billed separately.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Treatments at ECHO are intentionally gentle. We use a minimal-needle approach that feels calming for most people. You may notice subtle sensations—warmth, movement, or a gentle heaviness—as your system settles.
