We are currently in network with Aetna, Cigna, Health Net, Heraya (formerly CHP), Kaiser Permanente, Oregon Health Plan (OHP), Providence Health Plan, Regence (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), TriWest, United Healthcare, and WellCare. We also accept members of WholeHealth Living or ChooseHealthy.
If you plan to use insurance, please book your appointment at least a couple days in advance so we have time to verify your benefits. Most insurance plans cover acupuncture for pain, or for nausea related to pregnancy or chemotherapy, but each plan is a little different. We’ll check your coverage as a courtesy once you’re booked, but we also recommend confirming your benefits directly. For OHP and TriWest, a referral from a primary care provider is required. Scroll down below for more specific information on OHP coverage.
Acupuncture coverage varies widely between plans. Some only cover treatment for certain diagnoses (like pain or injury), while others have broader benefits. While we’re here to help, you are ultimately responsible for understanding your plan and what it covers.
To support you, we offer an Insurance Benefits Worksheet you can use to call your provider and record your answers. You’re welcome to email us what you find by clicking the submit button at the bottom of the form—we’re happy to help interpret anything that’s unclear.
Don’t see your network listed?
We’re continually expanding our insurance networks. If your plan isn’t listed but you feel drawn to our clinic, reach out—we’re happy to check on your coverage for you.
OHP specifics
At ECHO, we accept most forms of OHP, though there are a few exceptions. You’re welcome to reach out to confirm that we’re in network with your specific Coordinated Care Organization (CCO). Note that unlike other acupuncture plans, OHP will also cover acupuncture for addiction recovery or smoking cessation with referral.
